Ryan Coogler teams up again with Michael B. Jordan (or Jordans, given the dual role) for a popcorn southern gothic horror stuffed with commentary on salvation, time, and loss. In 1932, the Smokestack twins (both played by Jordan, one with a red fedora and the other a blue scally cap) return to their hometown in the Mississippi Delta after bootlegging days up North. Intent on opening a juke joint, the brothers flex their might and rally the community, only to soon encounter both earthly and unearthly challenges.
