The Gift of Life ND Club (GOL) is partnering with the Notre Dame PreProfessional Society (PPS) to host a cheek-swabbing drive to grow the bone marrow registry, which provides therapy options for individuals with blood cancers and other rare/malignant diseases that can be treated with hematopoietic bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell transplant procedures. With current medical technology, an HLA match must be found in order for the transplant to not be rejected by the recipient's immune system, and more people within the registry improves the chances of patients to find a life-saving donor match.
