Cristián Opazo
Associate Professor of Literature
Pontifical Catholic University of Chile

In this Kellogg Institute lecture, Cristián Opazo presents a vivid chronicle on KIMVN Teatro, a Mapuche artistic ensemble that combines theatre and activism. He addresses how KIMVN fights for the restoration of its community’s erased memory: When Mapuche territories suffered the effects of cruel economic predation, theatre artists assumed the work of kinship as their primary task (the conception, maintenance, and ritual celebration of cross-household kin ties).
