The Global University Summit for the Rome Call for AI Ethics will be hosted by the Pontifical Academy for Life and IBM.

The summit, which will be a hybrid in-person and online event, has an academic audience in mind. Including plenary keynotes, roundtables, networking events, and the formal signing ceremony, this two-day gathering will explore the complementary roles of research and education in the development of ethical approaches to AI.

During the summit, participants from invited universities will have the opportunity to discuss ongoing work and best practices around AI ethics in education, research, and policies.

The event will also include a signing ceremony where several universities, including Notre Dame, will share their commitment for the principles of the call and will formally sign the Rome Call for AI Ethics.
