The biblical importance of Mt. Sinai led to the creation of one of the world’s oldest monasteries, St. Catherine’s in Egypt. Today, this monastery houses some of the finest examples of early Christian art and the world’s oldest continuously operating library. This talk feature personal knowledge and scholarly insights about the history of the monastery, its cultural treasures, and the Christian monastic life it continues to preserve in the Middle East to day.
