Partha Bose represents the Maihar Gharana (musical tradition) famous for producing stalwarts Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan and is widely acknowledged as a leading contemporary sitarist. Trained by veteran Guru Pandit Monoj Shankar for forty-nine years, Bose divides his time between Kolkata and the rest of the world, performing, teaching, lecturing, composing, at reputed venues, including major festivals and universities. International media, including BBC Radio, CBC Radio & Television, Voice of America, Voice of Russia, Indian Radio & Television have featured Bose in interviews and music-sessions, to share his vision of music & life in music. He received the Nikhil Banerjee Memorial award, Sangeet Ratna and Vadya Alankar titles.
Talent, virtuosity and youthful dynamism blend in perfect proportion to project Indranil Mallick as a leading tabla player of his generation. Intensive training since the age of 5 under eminent masters including uncle Montu Mallick, Dhabol Bandyopadhyay, Uttam Chakraborty and currently, Maestro Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri have shaped Indranil's rich repertoire and justify his reputation in the national and international arena. Lauded by connoisseurs and critics for his solo performances and accompaniment with renowned musicians, Indranil was the first tabla player to receive the prestigious Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Award in 2015.
