Join us for a free jazz concert in the Mary Loretto & Terrence J. Dillon Courtyard of the Snite Museum of Art. Bring your own blanket or lawn chair and picnics are encouraged.  We’ll provide fresh popcorn, a cash bar, the atmosphere, and some amazing jazz.

J.J. Wright’s style cannot be easily categorized. Trained as a jazz improviser at the New School for Jazz in NYC, he’s also passionate about sacred music. Palestrina and Bach vie with Monk and Cannonball Adderley as just a few of his harmonic and melodic inspirations.  He is currently the Director of the Notre Dame Folk Choir.  Russell Hall is a Grammy and Emmy nominated bassist, singer, composer, and educator who performs domestically and internationally.  Drummer, bandleader, composer, and arranger, Evan Sherman has performed on four continents, playing alongside such jazz icons as Wynton and Branford Marsalis.  Both Russell and Evan regularly tour and record with pianist Emmet Cohen.

Free shuttle 4:45 to 7:45 p.m. between Bulla Road Lot and Museum, or park free in lots south of Stadium and walk to the Snite Museum.

Thursdays @ the Snite are free, open to all, include refreshments, and are a great way to connect with art in new ways. Museum galleries will be open that evening.

The performance will be moved inside in case of inclement weather that evening.

Series curated by Stephen and Mary Merriman of Merrimans’ Playhouse.
