Spring Concert: ND Jazz Bands

-

Location: Leighton Concert Hall, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center (View on map.nd.edu)

Notre Dame's Jazz Bands perform music for all listeners, ranging from traditional New Orleans music through classics by Count Basie and Duke Ellington, to contemporary pieces which combine jazz and rock. Even people who aren't familiar with jazz will enjoy this concert with music which follows Basie's famous quote: "If you can't tap your foot, don't play that song."

Featured groups are Notre Dame's Jazz Band 1, Jazz Band 2, and ND's New Orleans Brass Band. Vocalists Michelle Mann, Bailey McEachen, and Chiara Bangor-Giogio will add their vocal talents to the jazz bands. Praise from world-class jazz musicians highlight the musical skills of these groups:

“Great Spirit!” - Ingrid Jensen, trumpet
“A strong, full sounding ensemble.” - Jimmy Greene, saxophone
“Impressive.” - Helen Sung, piano
“Beautiful - Really like the variety. Yes!” - Marion Hayden, bass
“Great intensity from the first note.” - Obed Calvaire, drums

Family friendly, all ages are welcome.

 Free but ticketed event.
