Join ND Ability as we launch our Employee Resource Group for staff, faculty, and their family members with disabilities with guest speaker Cara Coleman. This event is open to all employees including individuals with disabilities, allies and advocates, and supporters of disability inclusion. Light refreshments will be provided.
Alumna Cara Coleman is principal at Bluebird Consulting and the author of "I Am Justice, Hear Me Roar," written about her daughter, Justice, who had disabilities and was medically complex. She is an instructor of medical education at the UVA School of Medicine INOVA campus and is on the executive editorial board of Pediatrics. Cara has worked in a variety of national roles, organizations, and projects, and has been an adult health specialist, a case manager for homeless pregnant women, a counselor in a shelter for battered women, and an attorney serving low-income immigrants.
