Information Session: Summer Service Learning Program

-

Location: Virtual Event

Students, are you considering your plans for summer 2021 and looking for something certain in these ever-changing times? Drop in to our virtual information session learn more about the Summer Service Learning Program (SSLP), an opportunity to work with a service organization in your hometown, learn the meaning of community, and consider how social issues impact the lives of the marginalized

What is SSLP?

The Summer Service Learning Program (SSLP) offers students the opportunity to serve for eight weeks with non-profit organizations related to healthcare, homelessness, immigration, education, and other social issues. Sponsored by Notre Dame Clubs across the country, SSLP students receive a $3,000 scholarship and three credits toward a variety of minors and majors.

What's different this year?

In light of COVID-19, SSLP 2021 participants will serve exclusively in their home communities at an SSLP site sponsored by local Notre Dame Clubs. Students will either live at home or "on-site" at an SSLP service organization within a short drive to home. In person service remains the preference, but if it becomes impossible to do so, then students will remain partnered with the same organization and will instead provide virtual service. This arrangement will provide the greatest assurance possible that students will be able to participate in the SSLP placement full time for 8 weeks, receive a $3,000 scholarship, as well as 3 credits.
