October 26-27

O’Neill Rollout Weekend

The celebration begins on Friday at 8:00 PM with a performance by Roomful of Teeth in the LaBar Recital Hall. The Grammy-winning vocal collective is dedicated to reimagining the expressive potential of the human voice. Through study with masters from vocal traditions the world over, the eight-voice ensemble continually expands its vocabulary of singing techniques. This rollout-weekend performance will include a new work by ND faculty composer John Liberatore.

The party continues with an open house on Saturday, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, designed to showcase the spectacular new spaces throughout O’Neill, and featuring performances representing the breadth of activity in the Department of Music and Program in Sacred Music. From instrumental chamber music and solo piano and organ performances, to solo voice, opera scenes, the Glee Club, the Chorale, and the SMND Children’s Choir—there will be something for everyone.

Free, not ticketed.

To cap it all off, join maestro Dan Stowe and the Notre Dame Symphony at 8:00 PM on Saturday in DeBartolo Performing Arts Center's Leighton Concert Hall for a program including Bartók’s Viola Concerto featuring Katie Gallagher (‘19), and the premiere of “Across the Sea,” a tone poem by Alexander Mansour (‘19).
