This isn't just another science conference

Hosted by the Michiana Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (MSfN), the (neuro)Science in Society Impact Summit is a collaborative call to action. By intentionally hosting this event off-campus, we are stepping out of the academic bubble to fulfill a core mission: to advance science education, advocate for public research, and listen directly to the needs of our local community.

In an era of growing skepticism toward institutions of higher learning, we must ask ourselves not just what our chapter could be, but what it should be. Join us as we explore how to use our collective knowledge in service to justice and build sustainable, capacity-building partnerships between our campus and our region.

Who Should Attend?

This event is free and open to:

  • Faculty and Researchers looking to ground their work in community impact.

  • Interns, Fellows, and Students eager to showcase their collaborative work.

  • Community Partners and Organization Leaders interested in shaping local research and resources.

Summit Highlights

  • Collaborative Breakout Sessions: Learn directly from university and local organizational representatives on successful community-university partnerships, lessons learned, and best practices.

  • Mid-Day Poster Session: Explore the inspiring, intentional projects our students are co-creating with local community partners.

  • Keynote Address: Be inspired by a leading voice in public-facing science and advocacy (Keynote speaker details to be announced!)

Shape the Future of Our Region

Come lend your strengths, listen to local needs, and help us strategically set the course for our community-university partnership role.
