Professor Pfinklepfunder's $1 Sunday Films
Directed by Emile Ardolino
With Whoopi Goldberg, Dame Maggie Smith, Harvey Keitel
Rated PG, 100 minutes
After witnessing her racketeering boyfriend (Harvey Keitel) commit a murder, lounge singer Deloris (Whoopi Goldberg) evades capture. In both a low-rent and inspired jerry-rigged witness protection program, the local police hide her in a convent. While adjusting to her new conditions, Sister Mary Clarence (née Deloris) helps transform the choir, thus attracting attention from both Rome and her past. This will be a sing-along screening with the lyrics on the screen, so you may follow the words wherever they may go.
