For nearly two decades, the University of Notre Dame has partnered with the Catholic Church in Haiti to build a system of care and learning for the country's most vulnerable children—through crisis, conflict, and constant change. Please join us for a conversation marking the release of the new book, Promoting a Child Development and Learning System in Haiti Amidst Conflict and Crises, edited by Neil Boothby and Kate Schuenke-Lucien of Notre Dame's Global Center for the Development of the Whole Child.

Panelists—including contributing authors to the book—will reflect on Notre Dame's journey from its earliest engagement with the Catholic Church in Haiti to today's research-driven, community-rooted programs, and will discuss:

  • How faith-based and parish systems became a foundation for whole-child development in one of the world's most challenging contexts
  • What nearly two decades of research, improvement science, and randomized controlled trials reveal about what works
  • Where this work can go next: the opportunities for expanding faith-based systems of care and learning beyond Haiti

Featured panelists include Jacky Lumarque, Tamara Doucet-Larozar, and Kate Schuenke-Lucien, with Neil Boothby joining as moderator.
