The Africana World: Multimedia & Music Resources from the Hesburgh Libraries

-

Location: 300 O'Shaughnessy Hall, Sojourner Truth Commons

Graphic with the words "Black Joy with the Hesburgh Libraries" is written in alternating red, gold, green, and white bold font on a black textured background. Below the words and centered at the bottom is a white silhouette of the University of Notre Dame’s Golden Dome. Four wavy, horizontal lines in white, gold, red, and green extend from both sides of the dome.

With tremendous joy and celebration of the Africana world (Africa, United States, and Afro-Caribbean diaspora), this event presents an opportunity for the University of Notre Dame community to connect with the Hesburgh Libraries vast array of multimedia resources (course content/creation of multimedia assignments) and be introduced to music resources from the Africana world.

Participants are asked to bring their devices (laptops, phones, tablets, etc.) and be prepared not only to learn about these invaluable resources but also to experience the possibility of impromptu dancing and celebration. Lite refreshments will be provided.

Presented by Leslie L. Morgan and Tiffany Gillaspy

Open to undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, staff, and postdocs.
