Location: DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, Browning Cinema

Heavily rusted, damaged tank with a bird painted blue and yellow, like the Ukrainian flag, on its side.

Please join us for the University's launch of the 47-minute social documentary 14 Litres of Ukrainian Blood (14 літрів української крові). This is a free event, open to the public, but tickets are required (these can be reserved through the box office).

The film will be briefly introduced by Rory Finnin (professor and director of Cambridge Ukrainian Studies, University of Cambridge, UK), followed by the showing of the film, and then a 20-minute question and answer session with the filmmakers and Ukrainian students.

This feature length social documentary, developed by Ian Kuijt (Department of Anthropology) and William Donaruma (Department of Film, Television, and Theatre), explores the human impact of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. This film draws upon on-camera interviews with Masters students from Ukrainian Catholic University, Ukrainian soldiers, clergy, and a British aid worker. The film is based on 30 days of filming and traveling in Ukraine between 2023–25.

As we approach the end of the fourth year of conflict in Ukraine after the full-scale invasion by Russia, we hope you will be able to join us for this screening of 14 Litres of Ukrainian Blood (14 літрів української крові).
