The real-life 2011 Iowa City West High School volleyball team's season is the basis for this biopic that shows how sports can serve as a space to funnel the emotion of a tragedy and work it into triumph. After the death of their captain, the Trojans transform their grief into motivation to win a state championship under their new captain (Erin Moriarty) and their inspirational coach (Helen Hunt).
