New at the Browning
Directed by Rian Johnson
With Daniel Craig, Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close
Rated R, 114 minutes, DCP
Daniel Craig has now steered two major franchises between his portrayals of James Bond and Benoit Blanc, the former being the molasses-tongued detective who here finds himself in his third Knives Out mystery and finds himself a doozie of a murder at Our Lady of Perpetual Fortitude. When a boxer-turned-priest with a troubled past (Josh O'Connor) is relocated to the parish of the authoritarian Msgr. Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin) in upstate New York, a cold war quickly escalates between the two. When a dead body shows up in the sacristy, the game of Clue begins with everyone in the congregation as a suspect.
