A Conversation with Catherine Arnold, OBE

Catherine Arnold Cropped

Catherine Arnold is a former UK Ambassador and currently Master of St Edmund’s College, part of the University of Cambridge. Catherine has served as a diplomat in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Oman and, most recently Mongolia. Throughout a varied career, which saw Catherine write a guide book to Baghdad after leaving a job in finance, Catherine’s personal interest has been in the role of religion in diplomacy and international affairs. She has degrees in Theology and Religious Conflict from Cambridge and Nottingham Universities. Since becoming Master of St Edmund’s College in 2019, Catherine has spent more time reflecting on the role of educational institutions in shaping ethical, global leaders. She looks forward to discussing this with Michael Pippenger, vice president and associate provost for internationalization.
