Love Data Week 2022 — Open House

-

Location: 245 Hesburgh Library

Love

Come interact with working examples of video games dating back to the late 1970s at the Hesburgh Libraries Legacy Technology Collection.

The Navari Family Center for Digital Scholarship preserves video game history by collecting software in original formats, running on original equipment, with original packaging and special materials. Learn how designers implemented creative solutions to technological limitations by using physical items off-screen (board-game pieces, codewheels, case files, maps, etc.) to capitalize on the media environment of their time — a source of data easily overlooked in the study of screen cultures.

In the event of inclement weather or pandemic effects precluding our ability to convene on campus, this event will be canceled.
