Research Uncorked For Calendar 600x400

Research Uncorked is a monthly speaker series featuring informal interviews with leading scholars and scientists from the University. Originally hosted at Ironhand Winebar in South Bend, the series is currently taking place online because of the coronavirus.

In May, we’re excited to welcome Kevin Bowyer, the Schubmehl-Prein Family Professor of Computer Science and Engineering. An expert in biometrics, Professor Bowyer has not only made fundamental contributions to facial recognition technology but also pursues research on its ethical implications. He will talk with us about what facial recognition can do—and, just as importantly, what it shouldn’t.
