(CANCELED) The Zoo Comes to Special Collections

-

Location: Hesburgh Library

Rbsc Spring2020 Rep 2

The Potawatomi Zoo and Notre Dame’s Rare Books and Special Collections invite all to join us in celebrating animals — live and in print!

The animal celebration will begin in the Hesburgh Library Scholars Lounge (on the first floor) with a presentation by the Zoo, where attendees can meet Lenny the sloth and Olive the anteater.

Then head across the concourse to Room 102 to take a tour of the Rare Books and Special Collections exhibit, Paws, Hooves, Fins, and Feathers: Animals in Print, 1500-1800. Our young attendees can also participate in an exhibit scavenger hunt and win animal prizes!

In addition, Alex Schaufele, assistant curator of education at the Snite Museum, will offer an animal-related art experience. There will be an art table set up for kids to create a piece of animal art to take home. Following our event, you may consider walking over to the Snite Museum for their Saturday Snite Sketches event at 2pm.

This event is free and requires no prior registration — just show up and have some fun.
