Renowned Nigerian writer and MacArthur “Genius Grant” winner Chimamanda Adichie will speak  as part of the University’s Sr. Kathleen Cannon, O.P., Distinguished Lecture Series.

Adichie’s TED Talk, “The Danger of a Single Story,” is among the most-viewed of all time and is part of the Moreau First Year Experience curriculum. Her 2012 Ted Talk, “We Should All Be Feminists,” became a bestselling book that has been translated into 32 languages. Adichie’s acclaimed novels include Americanah, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award; Half of a Yellow Sun, winner of the Orange Prize; and Purple Hibiscus, winner of the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. Her latest book is Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions.
