Leadership Formation Workshop Series: Organizing through the Power of Story

-

Location: Geddes Hall, Room B034

A follow-up to our storytelling workshop offered in the fall, come hear from community organizers how they are using the art form of storytelling to mobilize others for the work of the common good. This workshop will be facilitated by Elizabeth Moriarty and community organizers from Industrial Areas Foundation.

Open to any and all undergraduate and graduate students seeking to nurture leadership skills, the Leadership Formation Workshop Series runs through the academic year offering a variety of skill set workshops to strengthen and support student leadership development. Participants develop the ability to bring people together across ideological lines, find shared self interest, and work for the collective and common good.

Elizabeth Moriarty has three degrees in theology, divinity, and business from Notre Dame. Currently living in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, she is a writer and an organizer with the Industrial Areas Foundation. Her first book, tentatively titled We are Marvelously Made, is forthcoming from ACTA publications.
