Pandit Debojyoti Bose
Pandit Abhijit Banerjee (Tabla)

Debojyoti Bose hails from the famous musical Bose family of Kolkata. His father, Professor Biswanath Bose, a disciple of Pandit Kanthe Maharaj was a renowned tabla teacher and performer. His mother, Smt. Bharati Bose, a disciple of Ustad Mushtaq Ali Khan and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, gave him sarod lessons at a very early age. His oldest brother Pandit Kumar Bose is acknowledged as one of India's topmost tabla artists. He has been training with the Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan for over 25 years, and he is considered one of the leading artists of the Senia Bangash Gharana of Sarod. He has also received vocal guidance from Pandit Jayanta Bose, an older brother, and from Pandit Rajan and Sajan Mishtra and Pandit Vijay Kichlu. He has received many awards and performed widely in the US, UK, Australia, Russia, China, Indonesia and other countries, as well as, of course, in India.

Abhijit Banerjee is among the top tabla players of India. Steered to the tabla at the age of four by his father, he later became one of the main disciples of the illustrious guru, Pandit Gyan Prakash Ghosh. He has accompanied such luminaries as Pandit Ravi Shankar, Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, Begum Parweena Sultana, Pandit Jasraj, and Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, and has performed widely as a soloist. He has toured extensively in India, US, Canada, UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, South Africa, South East Asia and Mexico and performed in all of the major classical music festivals in India, as well as at the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Gevant Haus in Germany, Paleis in Brussels, Theatre de la Ville and Radio France in Paris, and the BBC among many others.
