Basilica Schola Vespers Concert

-

Location: Basilica (View on map )

The Notre Dame Basilica Schola, assisted by the Basilica’s Gregorian Chant Schola, will present a concert of sacred music, immediately following Sunday Vespers. The performance will feature the North American premiere of two recently rediscovered works. The first is a choral Mass setting by the renowned French organist and composer Jean Titelouze (1563-1633). The second is a set of ancient medieval chants (12th and 14th centuries) for the sick and dying which have been recently uncovered by visiting scholar to Notre Dame, Elaine Stratton-Hild. Directed by the Basilica Schola’s new director, Jonathan Hehn, this concert is free and open to the public.
