Wendy White

The Department of Art, Art History & Design is pleased to announce that renowned painter, Wendy White will be this year’s featured speaker. 

Wendy White is a New York-­based painter whose work draws its inspiration from advertising, athletics, and the built environment. Utilizing a layered approach that combines text and images alongside occasional dimensional and sculptural elements, White has created an idiosyncratic approach to painting that has found national and international acclaim with solo exhibitions in New York City, Tokyo, Dusseldorf, Paris, Chicago, Brussels, Madrid and many others. Publications that have covered White’s work include Artforum, Art in America, The Guardian, The Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, and Modern Painters. Her works are included in public and private collections across the globe including the Taguchi Art Collection, Japan; ARCO Foundation, Madrid; RISD Museum of Art, Providence, RI; UBS Art Collection, Zurich; and the High Museum of Art, Atlanta.
