The Symposium will examine Justice Antonin Scalia’s contributions to the field of Federal Courts. Our distinguished contributors, many of whom clerked for the Justice, will discuss Justice Scalia’s theory of constitutional and statutory interpretation, his judicial application of those theories, and his vision of the constitutional division of power.
Keynote Address speaker will be Hon. Brett Kavanaugh. Judge Kavanaugh was appointed to the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit by President George W. Bush in 2006. Before his appointment to the Court, Judge Kavanaugh served for more than five years in the White House for President George W. Bush. Since joining the Court, Judge Kavanaugh has taught courses on the Supreme Court, separation of powers and constitutional interpretation.
